At our April meeting we will review techniques and tools used to make a Photo Essay. Basically, a Photo Essay is a customized slideshow consisting of a collection of images, background music and compelling transitions to entertain family and friends, document a trip, or tell a life story. Expert slideshow artist and photographer, Dick Russell, will be at the meeting to share the process he uses when creating a Photo Essay as well as demo software used to produce amazing shows.

3/5 – March is a Contest Event! The topic is "Leading Lines." And we will have a drawing for a $50 Service Photo Gift Certificate

For this contest, the composition must be based on strong leading lines that draw the viewer’s eyes through the frame. There are many types of lines: straight, diagonal, curvy, zigzag, radial. Successful images should have a main subject that is clearly supported by leading lines, unless the leading lines themselves are interesting enough to be the main subject. This contest's judge is Ron Peiffer.

3/1 to 3/31 – Goddard Photography Club’s photo exhibit "A Digital Journey Through Riversdale" will be on display throughout March. The opening reception will be February 28, 6-8 PM (RSVP to Scott.hull@gmail.com). The exhibit will then be open Fridays and Sundays, March 1 through 31, with the standard inexpensive tour schedule at the Riversdale House Museum in Riverdale, Maryland. We'll be displaying 28 images taken in and around the 200-year-old mansion.

Many of the images were beautiful examples of the printing technology “Chromolithography,” and were produced locally at the A. Hoen Lithography Company in Baltimore.
