SEPTEMBER GENERAL MEETING: LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY WITH VINCENT FERRARI

Vincent Ferrari  is an award-winning artist/photographer and has had work displayed in many venues around Maryland, as well as in nationally juried exhibitions at galleries around the country. His subjects include landscapes, nature, and people. Vincent is a member of the Bowie-Crofton Camera Club, in Bowie, Maryland, and is the editor of that club's monthly newsletter, "The Viewfinder."

Advance planning:  Our October outing will be a chartered bus trip to NYC. We expect to have some  seats available for other MPA group members. Details forthcoming; expected cost about $50 for bus, food on your own. Shoot with the group or on your own. Final details & shooting itineraries (one for sun, one for rain) to be posted on CMPG.PHOTOGRAPHY in September.

Creative Exposure Baltimore
September 4. At the September meeting we will review the photos from the August Anniversary Event. If you attended the event - a night of shooting 3 great models - upload 2 of your favorites. If you couldn't attend, upload any 2 portraits from your collection

Deadline for submission is Sunday, September 2, 2018 11:59PM. Upload at: http://upload.creativeexposurebaltimore.com

ADDED FEATURE: "What I did on my Summer Vacation." After this meeting's critique, we'll have some extra time to chat about recent travel photography adventures (even if only as far as you own backyard). Let's have fun talking about everything from what gear you use, unusual experiences, special challenges, or perhaps some new places you can recommend that we visit to make great images. It's not required but you can bring a few photos on a jump drive (about 5) if you would like to show us where you've been.

Harford County Photography Group (HCPG)
The September meeting of HCPG takes place on Wednesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m. Les Picker will present, and the topic is "Displaying your Photographic Art." Preparing and displaying your work can be as easy or as complicated as you want it to be. If your photo is destined for a frame on your desk at work, Les’ presentation is not for you. There are plenty of options available to take care of this need. On the other hand, if you have a photograph that you have been itching to get on the wall, whether it be in your home, office, or an art gallery, Les’ presentation should help orient you in the world of mounting and display. There is a $5 admission fee, and we recommended that you sign up through Meetup.com to ensure seating is available.

NIH Camera Club
Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 pm is our first meeting of the year. Join us at 6:30 for a social gathering. The month, David Blecman, Negative Positive, is presenting "What's in My Bag?" What does a professional photographer carry in his camera bag for a photo shoot?  Afterwards, he will critique digital photographs submitted by our members. He'll show us, using some of the entries, how to make easy adjustments to improve the image. You must be a member of NIHCC to participate in the critique.
